About Us

His name was Charles Wesley Mays.  Most people called him Jack, some called him Charlie, while growing up in Kirkwood and at Marist, they called him Big Chief.  But to all the kids he was simply known as "Papa Jack".

Papa Jack lived in a time when life was simpler.  He loved life, and he loved his family.  He especially loved good, homemade country breakfasts and vegetables.  He would go out of his way for a good plate of country ham, biscuit and gravy.  Here at Papa Jack's we will always try our best to make him proud.

Papa Jack never met any strangers.  He was always first to greet someone with a big smile, a handshake, and a hug.  He was a hard worker and always made sure my three sisters and I had what we needed.  I loved and was always proud of my dad.  I always said if I become half the man he was, I'll be OK.  I miss him deeply.  But every time I look up and see our sign I'll smile and remember the man we called Papa Jack.

At Papa Jacks we serve those southern home cooked meals that “mama used to make”. We serve a full homemade breakfast, lunch and dinner.  Our fresh homemade desserts are our other specialty.  Our restaurant offers dine in, take out, drive-through and we cater to all your catering needs……breakfast, lunch and dinner…seven days a week.

We are located at Flowery Branch, Hall County.  Come by and visit our restaurant or call us for your next catering needs….we would love the opportunity to earn your business.
